Yogurt II

For snack the boys had apple and granola bar.
For lunch they had yogurt (with a few sprinkles because that makes it SO much better!), a half of a pear, bunny crackers, a few pretzels and two Hershey kisses for a treat.

Pesto Pizza

Snack today is banana and cheese. I sneaked in a few pieces of mozzarella cheese stick to see if S would notice - he did. I can't understand why he likes grated mozzarella cheese and fresh mozzarella cheese but not the cheese sticks.
For lunch the boys had pesto pizza bagels (using pesto instead of tomato sauce), granola bar, a few carrots and cantaloupe. Anything with pesto is a sure hit for them. Which reminds me that I really should make one more batch for the freezer before my basil freezes...
A and I joined the boys for lunch again today. A had regular cheese pizza bagels. He is not a fan of pesto. Please don't be alarmed by the weird looking cheese. I was all out of mozzarella except for cheese sticks so I cut one of them up - looks weird huh? Along with the pizza A had cantaloupe and pretzels. He ate all but a few pretzels.

This is my lunch of yogurt (a little strawberry and a little vanilla), cantaloupe a cookie and granola that I poured over the yogurt. Yum!

xoxo sandwich

Snack today - cheese and grape skewers. As a followup from yesturday, I spoke to S's teacher and she said she has no knowledge of that girls allergy to peanuts. She said neither she nor the school nurse have been alerted. The teacher thinks the girl just made it up. Maybe she just doesn't LIKE peanuts and tells people she has an allergy? The teachers comment was "well she has been ok so far". ok....... but aren't peanuts usually a LIFE THREATENING allergy???! To play it safe I figured I'd skip the peanuts until I can ask one of her parents or grandparents who pick her up or drop her off to school.
For today I got to play with my new letter cookie cutters. They are actually Wilton brand and are meant for cutting out fondant for cake decorating. They worked pretty well with fruit leather. For lunch we have a creme cheese and jelly sandwich with x's and o's made of fruit leather, some carrots a pear and a date nut bran muffin. The muffins came back home - not a hit.

Mac and Cheese

For snack today the boys had nuts (peanuts for S and almonds for E) with raisins and a half of a banana. I volunteered in S's class this morning and the girl who sits behind him told me that she was allergic to peanuts!!!! Ack!! The teacher specifically said at the back to school night that there were no allergies! I've been sending peanuts with S several times a week!! There was a substitute teacher today and I guess I'll confirm it with the teacher but I doubt any kid would lie about it. The kid next to her was eating a peanut granola bar too! I made sure they both washed up well but yikes!

There is only one water bottle pictured becasue E left his at school. I hope it comes home today.
For lunch the boys had mac and cheese (from a box which they prefer to my homemade version - sigh...), apples, meringue cookies and red pepper for S or avocado for E.

Salad and sides

Snacks today were peanut butter on crackers (S) or cheese on crackers (E), small oranges and red pepper. Not a speck remained.
Lunch was salad, birthday cake from the (rescheduled) weekend party, bunny crackers and egg salad (E) or chicken and cheese skewers (S). I used bigger salad dressing bottles than the last time as they said the last time was not enough. These different bottles are easier to clean too! I also took the advice about using a more simple dressing without the herbs. This was just red wine vinegar, olive oil and salt. The boys didn't miss the herbs one bit. I wasn't sure if S would eat the skewers but he polished them off - yeah!
