Quesaldillas

For snack today the boys had cantaloupe and almonds (E) or peanut butter on crackers (S). I was worried that the crackers would get soggy but S said that they were good. Yippie! A "new" food for S! I just need to get more nutritious crackers.
For lunch they had apples a meringue cookie made by grandma, cheese quesadillas with yogurt to dip them in. Just a few apple slices came back.

Hedgehog sandwich

Yeah! S is feeling better and back to school today. S had peanuts and grapes and carrots for a snack. He didn't eat the peanuts as he says he is tired of them. Sigh.... E had grapes, cheese and carrots.
For lunch they had a hedgehog shaped/decorated cream cheese and jelly sandwich with chocolate chip eyes and pretzel spikes(?). Also included were that last slivers of birthday cake - just in time to make more this weekend for the rescheduled party! Lastly some pear slices and a few peanuts just to fill the void. Other than S not eating the peanuts, the boxes came back empty.
A and I ate lunch with the big boys today. Here is A's lunch - a mini hedgehog, pears and a few almonds and chocolate chips. He was still hungry and later had some cheese and crackers.
I had a turkey and cheese wrap. I'm loving these new (to me) gluten free rice wraps. They are much more flexible than the corn tortillas. Along side of the wrap is some pear slices and I had yogurt with apple sauce in the other container.

Turkey and Cheese Roll ups

Snack today was almonds and oranges. I like putting oranges in their snack because they take a lot of chewing and the boys seem to have more time to eat snack than they do to eat lunch.
S had his (hopefully last for a while) sick day today so this lunch is for E only. I decided to do turkey again as S doesn't like it. I'm too lazy to make two different lunches most of the time so poor E is usually subjected to S's picky-ness.

Anyway, today I attempted turkey and cheese roll ups. I have seen this on many lunch blogs. It seems easy in theory but I had a hard time with it! I could not get the rolls to stay together! Truly, they are only staying together because they are pushed all together. Maybe I should have used a toothpick to hold them together? I did use mayonnaise for "glue". Maybe I just have "stiffer" cheese and turkey or something.

Along with the roll ups I sent more applesauce (by request), some granola bars and carrots on a skewer.

The carrots came back home and surprisingly the applesauce which he specifically requested came home too! He said he ran out of time. The granola bars are pretty dry so maybe they took a while to eat?

Angry looking turkey and cheese

Snack today is carrots and grapes. E and A LOVE to pick carrots from the garden. I told them they need to start eating more!

I didn't mean to make this sandwich look angry but it did sort of turn out that way. S is still sick so this lunch is for E. It it turkey and cheese with cutouts for the eyes, raisin pupils and pretzel hair. On the side is some homemade applesauce and more pretzels. All that returned were a few pretzel pieces.

Pizza and Cake

Snack today was oranges and cheese stick for E. Poor S is STILL sick.
For lunch E had leftover pizza and cake and some apples. The pizza and cake were from S and E's 7th birthday party over the weekend! We had to cancel the kids party due to S being sick but we had pizza, cake and of course presents with just our family and grandparents. E didn't eat many of the apples. He said he ran out of time. I guess I should have figured that he would eat the cake and pizza first. We made caramel icing for the cake and it is SO yummy - I bet he ate that first.
