Fruit Turkey

Isn't this fruit turkey cute? You COULD tell it was a turkey, right? :) I got the idea here. I probably should have used a bigger container so I could spread out the feather more. I imagine this will not look anything like a turkey by the time they eat it. Even though I tried to anchor it, Id bet it got thrown around in the boys' backpacks enough to mix it all up. I showed it to them this morning before closing the lid so they could appreciate it. :)
For lunch the boys had sandwiches (E's shown with turkey and cheese, S had PB and J), green beans, pumpkin cake and icing (green container) and apple sauce.

Zoo Lunch

Dh was off today due to Veterans Day. E and S still had school unfortunately but Dh, A and I decided to go to the zoo this morning. Fun fun! We packed lunches of course...
Here is A's lunch. He had grapes, carrot sticks, a candy bar, a cheese stick,a slice of turkey on skewers and some crackers. He ate all but the carrots and he ate a bunch of Mom and Dad's food too! He must be growing..
Here is my lunch, two rice cakes with turkey, cheese and mustard, pickles, grapes and some candy.
And lastly, here is Dh's lunch. On the bottom is a layer of grapes and carrot sticks which you can't see. The top layer is a turkey and cheese sandwich, nuts and candy.
Here they are all stacked up! Lunch for the mama bear, papa bear and baby bear. I was thrilled to find that when empty, these three containers all fit inside each other too! - I'm easily amused...

Silly Guy Sandwich

Snack today was cheese, crackers and apple slices.
Lunch was a silly guy sandwich made with creme cheese and jelly, pretzels, huge grapes and a candy bar. We are almost to the end of our candy bowl! Although there is more candy in the house, the boys don't know about that stash so we'll be free of the daily dose of candy very soon - yeah (says Mom) boo (says kids)!!

Pizza again...

Snack today is cheese and grape skewers.
Lunch was pizza, avacado for E and carrotts and cauliflower for S, apples and pumpkin cake with a green container of liquidity frosting (glaze?) in the little green container. The boys ended up also dipping their apples in the icing.
A and I joined the big boys for lunch. Above is A's lunch of pizza, pears and pumpkin cake and a penguin filled with icing. (hmm... I just noticed the letter "P" theme...)
Here is my lunch of soup, pumpkin cake, apples and zucchini quiche.

MTM - No Theme

There was no theme for today's Muffin Tin Monday edition. This was a muffin tin snack for 3 year old A. The top row had raisins, avocado and nuts. The bottom row had crackers, a banana pop (just a banana on a Popsicle stick) and some wild puff cereal pieces. A yummy snack!

Homemade Mac and Cheese

Snack = apples, cheese and crackers. S did not like these pecan/rice crackers.

I'm beginning to believe it when they say you have to present a food many many different times sometimes before your kids will eat it. I have made homemade macaroni and cheese at least ten times for the boys and they always reject it after one bite. I made it for dinner last night however and they all asked for seconds! I figured I was on to a good thing and packed them some for lunch. E finished his but S ate very little. They still much prefer the stuff from a box but it's progress!

Along with the mac and cheese they had bananas, nuts and a chocolate bar. The didn't eat many nuts. They say they are bored of nuts. I guess I can understand that given how often I pack them for snack...
