Snack = apples, cheese and crackers. S did not like these pecan/rice crackers.
I'm beginning to believe it when they say you have to present a food many many different times sometimes before your kids will eat it. I have made homemade macaroni and cheese at least ten times for the boys and they always reject it after one bite. I made it for dinner last night however and they all asked for seconds! I figured I was on to a good thing and packed them some for lunch. E finished his but S ate very little. They still much prefer the stuff from a box but it's progress!
Along with the mac and cheese they had bananas, nuts and a chocolate bar. The didn't eat many nuts. They say they are bored of nuts. I guess I can understand that given how often I pack them for snack...

Mock "Lunchable" again
Snack today was apples and some cereal - "Wild Puffs" I think it is called.
S told me the other day that he noticed that his friend had a cool lunch. When I asked him about it I realized he was talking about a lunchables lunch with crackers, cheese and meat. I guess it was just a matter of time until they noticed lunchables. They seem to be very popular at their school. Anyway, I told him I could make him a lunch like that and in fact I already did. He said "that was kind of like it but my friend had thick pieces of meat." Got it. So the next time I was at the deli I asked for some ham cut thickly and used it to make todays lunch. The boys both said it was good though not exactly like their friends....
In the top container the boys had crackers, candy bar and pear. On the bottom they had monterrey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, ham, peperoni and a granola bar. They both left some of the crackers and cheese. I wonder if they wold have eaten more cheese if I had cut it "pretty" like the ham?

Cheesey bagels and Dry Fruit
Snack today was nuts and apple.
For lunch... the top right container has freeze dries fruit (pears, strawberry and banana) A few pieces came home and they were no longer crisp but they boys say they were crisp at lunchtime. I packed this lunch this morning. I think if I was packing the night before, I would have to leave the freeze dried fruit out until the morning in order to keep it crisp. The next cup has a mini pumpkin muffin (which they both ate despite the fact that there was no frosting on it - yeah!) and some Teddy grahams from the trick or treat stash. On the bottom they has some mini bagels with melted cheese and some carrots and mushrooms.

Pasta Fagioli
For snack today the boys had quesadillas, carrot sticks and apple slices.
For lunch they had Pasta Fagioli (made by Grandpa), orange slices, nuts and raisins and a frosted pumpkin muffin. The boys said it was all good but the frosting melted all over and made a big mess. It probably got too warm being next to the soup container. A mess to clean up (and probably to eat) but they said they liked it.

MTM -Space Theme
The theme today for Muffin Tin Monday is Space. Here's our tin... Moon shaped apples, O cereal "rings of Saturn", shooting stars made of cheddar star shapes and string cheese and cereal "meteors". A and his buddy ate this for a snack today. Yum!
