Pasta in the thermos

Snack today was humus and carrots.
Lunch was pasta with tomato sauce in the thermos, pineapple chinks, peanuts, chocolate cookie and the little orange guy has parmesean cheese to sprinkle on the pasta. In the interest of time I really should have just put the cheese on the pasta before closing the thermos but it's way more fun to sprinkle it on themselves, they say! Ok... and I can't resist the cute little orange guy... When the opening is closed he has his eyes closed and when you open it, his eyes are open. How cute is that?

English muffin pizzas

E's snack on top with orange sand cheese sticks. S's snack on the bottom with oranges and peanuts.
Lunch today was English muffin pizza's, carrots, pudding and pears. They ate all but the carrots which the said were packed in too hard to get out... or maybe that was just an excuse not to eat their veggies?

Weekend leftovers

Snack today was some pear slices and some leftover cheese quesadillas.
Lunch was leftover pizza and chicken strips, BBQ sauce for dipping, raw veggies, apple and orange slices and very chocolaty pudding. Yum! And we used up a lot of leftovers! Note: when you make chocolate pudding with dark cocoa is comes out almost black! Very yummy though!

Muffin Tin Monday - The letter A

Today's Muffin Tin Monday theme is "learning is fun!" I made this muffin tin snack all about the letter A. Upper and lower case "A" from string cheese along with some Apples and Avocados. I realized while talking about the muffin tin with A and his buddy who is over for a play date that we pronounce avocado as if it started with an "o" so probably not the best food choice to illustrate the "a" sound... Oh well, the boys liked eating it and making other letters with the cheese.

Marshmallow teeth smile sandwich

Snack today was apple slices, half of a pumpkin pie granola bar and some peanut butter dip for S and creme cheese dip for E. This is the first time I packed creme cheese as a dip. I should have pointed it out to E because he thought it was yogurt and didn't eat it because he didn't have a spoon...
Lunch had a creme cheese and jelly sandwich with a apple and marshmallow mouth, a little orange, peas and some Christmas chocolate too. I don't think either boy ate any of the peas as they seemed to all be rolling around the lunchbox when I unpacked it. Oh well.

Back to school!

We are finally back to school! We had a fabulous break but it was time to go back (at least the adults felt that way). For snack we had the only remaining piece of fruit in the house (food shopping is just easier when two of the three kids are in school...) and some crackers with peanut butter (S) or creme cheese (E).
Dried fruit and canned fruit came to the rescue for lunch. The boys had yogurt with canned pineapple. Freeze dried fruit, peanuts and cookies. Neither boys ate much lunch. They say they ran out of time. I think they got used to eating at a normal pace over break... back to spped eating in the 15 minutes allotted at school... Poor kids!
